Has anyone had any experience with this?
From the research I've done, this is one excellent company that produces very high quality products.
Also, that a shift kit is one of the best mods you could possibly do. [That came from jtsmith, along with other sources]

I have a few questions though.

Does the transmission need to be dropped to install a shift kit?
From my research it seems just the pan needs to be taken off.
How long does it take to install this? [I will be having a shop do it]
I'm curious as to how much I'm going to be paying in labor..

Would you highly recommend I switch to Amisoil transmission fluid?
[I have a feeling Aldive is going to comment on that one..=P]

I don't know.. I just need a little more information and feedback.. so yeah.. this is one of my next mods..

Skip EE, the only parts worth getting there are the rear sway bar, and the bump stops.

Go to eBay and find the Transgo HD kit for about $90. The kit is mainly for the valve body, thus it's basically a VB kit, just better than the $35 kits. There will be a few items for the accumulators etc, in the case itself.

If you do that and don't expect to go back into the trans for a long while, buy the best fluid like Amsoil. I also recommend adding a bottle of Lubegard additive, available at all trans parts stores. I need a couple of those now, for my two trucks. Be sure to get the correct version, for Mercon V. Regards,

Why would I want the HD kit over the Trans-Go kit EE sells?

[Besides, price] What's the differences? Trans-Go is a good company, right? So no matter where I get it from.. it should be a good mod?

The way I see it, if I get it from EE.. I'll get the kit specifically for my truck?
I have a thing with Ebay.........

What about labor?

I bought a transgo kit off ebay and installed it. The install wasn't too bad really. You just need to treat it like open heart surgery. Have a clean work area, and keep very good track of the parts.

Any drilling required?

I'm just going to have a shop do it.. how long does it take? Also.. How was the performance of the Ebay kit?

The ebay one seemed to help the trans out. It downshifts the way it should and doesn't feel like it gets stuck in a gear you don't want. Firmed up the shifting also.

I believe there were one or two holes that needed to be drilled. I think it took me about two hours to do the work, but that didn't included draining the pan or refilling the trans. My trans was already out of the vehicle and drained when I did the install so it was real easy to work on. lol A good shop should be able to take care of in 3 hours I would think. I don't know though, I am not good at estimating stuff like that.

Hmm....

Anymore information that might be useful for me?

The HD kit retails for about $110 from ost mail order places. EE will be higher, because they are higher priced on all products(which they do not make).

The eBay sellers usually get you a better price for those kits, they are all the same kit.

I mentioned HD because TransGo also makes a systems correction kit for almost all transmissions, they run about $35. Those kits are not the same thing, they help but are not high performance shift kits.

TransGo calls their real performance kits HD or some other stuff referring to drag racing. Just be sure that what you get is for a 4R70W or AODE, the one kit does all of those. Don't get the AOD kit. Regards,

Systems correction kit?

Either one would be just as good, right? They both would make the shifts almost instant.
Does one change the shift points or something? I'll have a tune for that.

I won't be going to Ebay, I'll be either going to EE.. or any other site I can find with the kit. I saw it on Summit, the same exact kit for cheaper. I haven't found any information on this HD kit you speak of.

Keep in mind, this is for the 4R70W.

Again, please listen. There are two kits by TransGo for the 4R70W and AODE. One costs about $100(85-130), the other is about $35(20-45). The expensive one is the HD kit, buy that kit. Don't buy the cheaper kit.

The HD kit comes in a large box, the Sysko kits are in a very small box(light blue lettering). Look at the eBay auctions, see what the boxes look like there. If have a very good trans shop near you, they can get both kinds of kits. They will have the cheap kits in stock.

Understood, the two identical kits I have been looking at seem to be the HD kit you speak of. 116$-180$
I was never intending to buy the cheap kit, specially when it comes to my transmission.
I'll also be switching to Amsoil fluid as suggested to me by jtsmith.
