..Time to get this started so we can plan and save up for this next trip..:biggthump

..On our last trip it was discussed and it seems like the areas mentioned were Southern Arizona, Arizona north of Phoenix, and the Ghost Towns of Central to Northern Nevada.

..My vote is for the Ghost Towns of Central to Northern Nevada...There is a lot to see east of the 395 but I would suspect most of the trip would be off the hwy 95 area..

..At this time I am assuming the trip will again be somewhere in March or April for planning and weather reasons.

..Everyone who wants to go on this trip is invited to chime in so make yourself heard..:biggthump

Ghost Towns of Nevada.

..Yea..But which truck will you be bringing is the question?...:p:

Hopefully, the one with 300 hp...

Looking at the map, it looks like we will be away from civilization for days at a time.

A fridge and dual fuel can holder will be welcome additions.

I've been thinking about a different chuck box setup, too...

..We sure will..:D..It's pretty barren and it get's real hot if the weather is against us.

....I'm really not sure I want to get rid of my camp kitchen although using my Cadac Safari grill and a action packer or two seems to work well on the longer trips..

I like my camp kitchen, but it sits way too low. I think I would like to store condiments with the cook gear, too. I want to get everything closer together - within arm's reach while cooking.

But, a removable organizer in the Action Packer would solve that problem.

This is a winter project - still in the thinking stage.

Also thinking about a 2-burner stove with a cast iron griddle - that way we can cook more than 3 pancakes at a time!

Scott, Thanks for the warning about the banjo music. I think I entertained our entire office with that one. Looks like a trip I would like to join again.

Yea, with 300 hp it will be easier to get up on two wheels!!!!!!!!!

Let's hope not...

3rd desert expedition......

I'm in of course and the ghost towns sound way kool, they have the ability to fire up the imagination. When I first heard this in Moab I thought it would be a fantastic adventure....... and remote, just what I like!!! Michael

How does the 3rd and/or 4th week of March sound?

We should have nice weather - not too cold, not hot yet.

I have been thinking about Big Bend in TX lately. In talking with a friend of mine who has taken his dual sport bike down there he says there are a number of trails including a 100 miler along the river. That would be a good March trip.

I wouldnt mind another part of Utah either. Nevada sounds interesting. Time to browse some trip reports for ideas...

3rd desert expedition

Scott, I would rather the end of March/first of April as we would be back from down in S. Carolina by then, like this years trip. Michael

Wish I lived closer to NV/AZ/etc... :(

I've been thinking about doing that Big Bend one myself. March-ish might even work for me.

..I'm pretty sure this trip will be held in Nevada..;)

..I'm not saying Brian may not run Big Bend next year though....But Big Bend could get planned for the 2014 Expedition..:dunno:

Well, regardless of what you do, I think we'll (exclusive we) be checking out this area (Big Bend) first week of March.
