My check engine light started coming on shortly after the engine warms up. Took it to my friends shop and hooked it up to the code scanner. The #'s were both 32"something" It really doesn't matter right now. The book said the codes were for EGR valve problems. One of the guys at the shop said that many Fords in his experience have the EGR control solenoid (the thing that either allows or doesn't allow vaccuum to flow to the EGR valve) go bad. But the concensus was take off the EGR and see if it's gunked up if so, clean it. If ya can't clean it replace it, if that's not the problem, replace the solenoid. Any way, I can't get the EGR valve off!! I'm assuming I gotta soak it in penetrating oil for like 3 days w/out running the engine, and then try it. Does any one have any experience w/ any of this? Thanx,
