I trying to change the egr valve on a 94 and having no luck removing the pipe from the exhaust manifold that screws into the bottom of the valve. I put a wrench with a pipe on it and it won't budge.
any and all suggestions appreciated.

Did you try to heat it up with a blow torch? Just be cafeful, and have a fire extinguisher nearby. Try to shield anything flammable with either sheet metal, or a special high temperature material made by Oatey. They have this in Home Depot.

I just did mine, I kept spraying it with seafoam deepcreep and tapping it with a hammer to break up some rust. Use a good penetrating lube, whatever it is. Then a channel lock worked it loose. Make sure you are turning it the right way! It is a normal thread, everyone has tried to turn a nut the wrong way at least once. It took a lot of force, but once you get it to move a little, the work's done.

don't forget to transfer that small plate from the old EGR to the new one. If the screw is too rusted, use a dremel to flatten two sides of the screw and an adjustable wrench will get it turning. Just make sure to soak it in penetrating oil first.
