Hello im george
I was wondering how do you clean the egr lines in a 5.0 V8 1997 ford explorer.
I cleaned the egr valve but I think there is carbon deposits in the lines because I still have the P0401 code.
By the way the computer somtimes takes the code off then puts it on later again can it also be my vaccum solinoid

Pull off that upper EGR Uppipe and spray some TB cleaner in there.

also dont I need some kind of compressed air to take it out

Your going to need to loosen it and once you dilute it with Throttle Body Cleaner, majority of it will be burned up within the engine. Try to shake as much out as you can.

Can I use choke and carburator cleaner instead of TB ? Thats all i have right now.
Also I have the internal egr system on the 5.0
so can i take the intake where the air filter and all that is so i can make the job easier or is that unessacary.
