Like it says the vacume lines are blowing off whenever I put the hammer down. I replaced the original hoses when they first blew off because the ends split and now they just pop off . The hoses don't come off when driving normally but who drives like that (other than my grandmother and her friends that still have their licences). I was thinking maybe head gaskets or cracked head oh ya I just removed the muffler and put a straight pipe from converter to the tailpipe . Could the exhaust have an effect?
Any ideas would be great.

When mine were blowing off it was because of a bad transmission modulator. It allows tranny fluid into the lines and they slip right off. Mine would pop off with the slightest backfire. Wait for more opinions though. Mine were blowing off the the vacuum tree. Multiple lines were blowing off.

it could be form a bad transmission modulator ,as it will swell the hose iv done 2 sets of replacement caps sence end of oct cause of it . also could be from the oil coke from the egr causing it . put a new set of caps on a use some small zipties to hold them inplace.

Wait-
is it VACUUM lines which are blowing off, or the 2 EGR lines going to the DPFE sensor?
The later are not vacuum lines-and if they are blowing off you need a new DPFE sensor, or, your catalytic converter is clogged. Also-be sure you are using silicon fuel or emmision hose, and not regular rubber vacuum hose. Vacuum hose is softer and may not hold a grip.

This may not have been the thing to do, but I zip tied mine on to the tree, and that was several years ago. No more hoses popping off! I guess there were some plugs that kept coming off too. They would fall down into the engine, or on to the ground getting lost. I got tired of replacing them. Like I said no more problems...308K miles on the original engine!!

Vacuum line blow-off

 I had the same problem with my X.. It turned out that I was sucking up trans fluid through the modulator valve vac-line into the engine and after awhile the vacuum lines became swollen and would blow off.
I fixed the problem with the trans and replaced the lines NO more blowing off for mine!

go to crappy an buy some emmision hose im sure the insides are wore out by now. i had to replace it when i got my truck it keep falling off.
does this truck have a manual 4x4? i didnt see the shift motor on the transfer case.

tcase mod

I took shift motor off and modified it. I will post detailed pics and details on how I modified it for those who like it and want to do it to their truck. I might decide to retrofit them for people interested in moding their non-working auto 4x4. Have you ever been to Sutton?

I replaced some of the lines as they poped off I will ziptie them tomorrow and race around to see if they pop off again. And the modulater valve must be bad as there is oil in the vacume tree it also surges when trying to maintaine any certain speed and have heard that thats another indication its ng.

well its looks like a unique set up you have there ill be looking forward to reading it once you put it up.
to answer you question, yes iv been to sutton quite a few times. use to camp at jackson point

I was leaving work and heard a pop under the hood. 3 of the vacuum lines on the intake manifold blew off. I put them back on, but the were oily and would barely fit on without sliding off. After doing a little searching here I discovered its %99.9 the vacuum modulator. I picked up a new one and all is good now (I'm running around with zipped hoses for the moment)..

Searching on modulator will yield a bunch of hits like:

1st Gen vacuum mod issue.
