Been seeing a lot of the "electric turbochargers" showing up around the internet. They go between your air filter and your intake, come on full blast at a set throttle setting, and ram more air into your intake. Found one place that said that these were actually bilge pumps for ships. They flow about 240cfm when spooled up. Sound like it might work. Obviously the more air the more power, but just curious if anyone has tried one of these for additional power and what were your results?

dont double post please

dont douple post..... 240 cfm.... damn...that isnt much..... a stock v8 probably moves something around 400

I deleted your other post.

Anyway, they don't work, nuff said ;)

Remember, a true turbo is spun off of exhaust gas to generate the boost into the intake system. And there is a waste gate to compensate for the overboost. This isn't a turbo at all, but a (like air conditioning) blower motor to try and force more volume into and already contained system.

I know most V-8's are much higher in the cfm range. These are electric fans that force more air using an electric motor. Just curious if anyone has ever seen these or tried them. Some of these things are bringing big bucks for other applications like M3's. Check out:

The intake itself would have a suction volume higher than 240 cfm. Placing a blower inline that produces only 240 cfm would do nothing except create a blockage (extra static pressure) in the intake. Therefore, all this gimic would do is restrict airflow, therefore adversely affecting engine performance.

Bottom line, it is junk!

BTW: If you happen to be soliciting this product, I would suggest discussing this with Rick.

Thanks Rob, thats kinda my feelings as well. No I am not using this to advertise the "turbo" I just thought I might get some other input on this. Its one of those sounds too good to be true items. Well my boss got suckered into buying one to try to help his Honda along a little better, payed $102 plus shipping (ouch!). Lets see what his does in a couple weeks when he gets it. If it works I'll post here again. Thanks for the inputs everybody.

Morrisey...Buddy....Simmer down a bit...Lets enjoy these threads and use them for their purpose and not play BulletinCop. Thats why we have splendided moderators. About the Electric Turbo...Rick would laugh if he heard someone was soliciting them. It would be the biggest joke yet.

hmmmm.....I keep re-reading my previous post and can't find anything about it that wasn't "simmer". I read an honest opinion of the product (which the original author asked for and thanked me for), and a suggestion if the author "happen"ed to be soliciting the product.

But, if you were offended by that for reason........Sorry!

Hey, we're all friends here man. I was just commenting on other threads as well we're you have been crackin down on people. I don't mean to be rude, just trying to relax ya man.

... just to second what everyone has said... they are a scam. 240 cfm would barely create boost on a dirt bike, and its gonna be nothing but a restriction on ANY car/truck. V6,V8, I-4, its still not gonna be anywere near enough air. sorry, but it IS to good to be true.

Just another sucker scam, and there are a lot of suckers out there. How many in here wish they would have thought of it first? If you a sucker with lots of money to thow away, please just send it to me. :p
