How's it going ya'll? Been a long time since I've been here and my ex has sadly been off the road for a while now, so I wanted to start to fix some things.

Awhile back I was changing the battery and accidently put the terminals on backwards. In a matter of seconds I fried my Altenator. Sadly I also lost power to my Grill lights, Roof rack, and Sony Xplode cd player.

If anyone has any experience with this please hit me back. And no I did not personally install these things, so about all I know is there are a number of wires drawing off of my battery.

Sorry to hear about the mishap.

I would start by checking all fuses and then go from there.

Good luck with the fix. :biggthump

Hadn't noticed anything in the fuse, or relay box. Do these add on items typically have their own fuses?

When the battery was hook up backwards, it caused all kinds of havoc. The radio, assuming it replaced the stock head unit, will have a fuse. The other stuff should be fused, but not necessarily in the factory fuse panels.

You can trace the wiring for the aftermarket stuff and see if they have something like an inline fuse or fused in the factory fuse panels. Otherwise, the aftermarket stuff might be fried.

Sony likes to put a fuse on the back of the radio. Pull it out and check.

Also check for jumpered fuses behind the in cab fuse panel, and anywhere along the path from the light relays to the lights.

It might also be worth checking to see if the aftermarket relays and/or relay switches got fried in the incident. Don't worry about it too much, one of my friends once did the same thing with jumper cables once... the receiving vehicle lost every fuse and relay, both under the hood and in the cab... talk about a cluster f***.
