I wrecked my explorer about three weeks ago and i just got it back from the body shop. The did a horrible job and i didn't end up paying them the full price (Only PIP on the car). I immediately noticed that there are two issues going on with the explorer. Keep in mind both airbags did deploy.

1) Car beeps 5 times, repeating for 5 sequences. I am told this happens when the airbag light blows to audibly warm the driver. Before the crash i noticed it would flash when i got in the car and then stay on, which i narrowed down to the capacitor under the passenger seat for the airbag. Will i fix this issue by replacing that capacitor and the light? How did the light blow when i rear ended a car?

2) When i start the car and turn the ac on full and the headlights on, the fog light and right turn signal light up. When this happens i cannot use my right blinker until I turn my ac off. Additionally when i do this the ac cuts off and blows very mildly, however it is still cold air. Ive read this could be a bad ignition switch or a bad ground. Additionally sometimes when I am driving it will randomly work fine and this go back into this screwed up mode. Thoughts and Opinions?

Sorry I can't help you on #1 as I am not that well versed in the air bag system. As for #2 my first thought would be a loose or non-connected ground somewhere on the front end.
Hope this helps.

WHere should i look. My passenger fender and radiator mount were replaced. I Only see one bunch of wires that ground at the passenger fender and none floating around.

Just as an update, replaced light and capacitor and a getting a 19 error code. Looked up the error code and it says crash data full. I checked a wiring diagram and the ac blower grounds at the restraints module...hmm.

The air bag module needs to be replaced if you are getting a crash data full code. That should have been replaced at the body shop as part of the repair.

I just took it to a shop and the 19 code just needed to be cleared. Any harm in not replacing the unit if it was just the 19 error code-crash memory full?

Also just found out what was causing my problems. There was a wire in the harness that runs under the radiator to the right side headlight and abs that was shorting to ground, must have been damaged in the crash.

Now im getting the 37 airbag code AGAIN even though ive replaced the resistor under the drivers and passengers seat, i even switched them and its still giving a 37 code. Also ABS light is on >.<
