Problem 1:Hey guys I have some problems going on with my 99 4x4 5speed 4door.I recently had the abs light turn on so I scanned it and it said front right sensor so I bought both fronts and the back because they where cheap enuf put them in and added brake fluid and the light turned off but as soon as I go past like 15 it turns back on.

#2 cruise control stoped working after I changed my slave and master cylinder for my clutch so I thought I might be the clutch switch or break but my break lights work and when I push the clutch the truck start if I don’t it won’t start so I bought new steering wheel buttons and did the diagnostic thing hitting the buttons and only on and the top right one makes the cruise light turn on.
If anyone can help please do I’m stumped usually can figure this type of stuff out Thank you

Time for you to invest 25 bucks on Forscan and a USB elm327

Do a little research on it ;)
You need the Abs code and live data to really fix it properly or your just throwing parts
You will be able to diagnose your cruise control to easily

ok I will order it thank you for your help
Yep all you will have to buy is that adapter
forscan is the Best FORD diagnostic software and its free

Only thing better is ford IDS

An ABS fault may stop cruise control from working so I'd focus on ABS first.

After the sensor swap, did you scan it again and get the same code?

If you have a multimeter you can measure resistance of the sensor coil, should be about 420 ohms, can measure for low AC voltage at the ABS control module (under hood) when the wheel is spinning, and also can measure for same 420 ohms at the ABS control module connector (pictured below) to determine if the wiring and sensor circuit to the control module are continuous. 420 ohms is only approximate, could be off maybe 15%+ and still be fine.

I recall recently one topic where a member replaced their front sensor but failed to get it plugged in all the way (at the electrical connector, not into the hub but if the hub was really rusty then it might need cleaned to get the replacement sensor to sit deep enough into it) and that was the cause... it's in an awkward position, that connector to the sensor.

Other people have found that replacing their sensor was only a short term (if any length of time) fix because the hub itself was going out, either throwing alignment of the tone ring off in proximity to the sensor, or too much wear causing metal particles in the grease on the tone ring. This is assuming you have 4WD so the tone ring is in the hub rather than external.

Depending on mileage and terrain, a '99 is at the age where it wouldn't be surprising at all to need new front hub(s) if still on the originals.

Your ABS control module may be oriented differently than in this picture below but this is what it looks like and shows the connector interlock pulled out to disconnect it for testing.

Thank you for the info for abs I’m not too worried about it really just wanted to fix it to get the light off so I’m probably just going to pull the cluster and pull the bulb out for it.I talked to a good mechanic friend near me and he said if the abs light is on it should not make the cruise control turn off is that true? Also my cruise control worked fine untill I replaced the clutch slave and master cylinder do you think the clutch switch could have messed up causing it not to work, only thing on that is when I push the clutch to start the truck it starts if I don’t push it it does not start is there another easy way to see if that clutch switch is working.also all the fuses are good, cruise control buttons are new brake light turn on when I hit the break (assuming the brake switch is good)and the harness on the master cylinder has been changed by ford and the fuses in it are good anything else I can check before just throwing parts at it (1999 5speed 4door 4x4)

And yes same abs codes after all three sensors where changes and front hubs have been changes about 5 months ago do to having spacers and 33s I guess they where out faster.ABS codes:c1155/c1232/c1237
