Electrical wetness issues

Hey,
I'm a little new to this wheelin thing. I have a 92 XLT and when ever I go off road and get the truck pretty muddy and wet, it becomes hard to start again (or impossible) until I clean off the battery terminals. If there a fix for this?

I would have searched but is has been disabled.

they sell battery covers, also in the car audio department they have better terminals/cables.
anyway after wheelin when checking for damage its not a big deal to pop the hood and clean everything off.

If you're wheeling hard enough to soak the battery you also need to worry about hydrolock and water in your drivetrain components.

Just my 2 cents.

If water/mud/ god knows what else is getting up that high, invest in a cover.

Also, I'd take a quick look at the + & - cables. If they look pretty beat, change 'em. Where ever you wheel sounds like fun, but being stuck 'cause of a bad battery cable would stink ...

Ounce of prevention is better than a gallon of I told you so :)
