'97 Explorer XLT
Need advice. Have a '97 Explorer XLT - 80,000 miles. Took it to a Ford Dealership a couple weeks ago and had my right brake light replaced along with some other routine maintenence work done (rotated tires, oil change and so on...).

Now (only 2 weeks later), my left and top brake lights do not work and my right headlight is also out. This seems too coincidental to have not been caused accidentally by the mechanics at the dealer. Thoughts on what could have happend? I'm going to try to go back and have them make those repairs free of charge.

Thanks in advance.

Did the lights work when the vehicle left the dealership? If they did, I don't see how the problem could be related to any of the work done to the vehicle by the dealership. Someone can not make a light fail (unless they physically break it).

or unless they loosened a wire and it worked itself completely loose over a few days.

Sometimes the electrical system for the lights is wierd. I know strange things happened with the brake and turn signal lights in my mothers car when a bulb was bad. Check to make sure the replacement is the right type and that all the bulbs are all seated correctly.
