emergency lights

Cool, I am looking at the Federal AS124. I've found a spot on my lower rad support and I'm in the process of designing a bracket for it. I haven't made up my mind about what siren control unit to use.

I am useing a Whelen. heres a pic. I used the stock bracket for it. It was kinda hard to mount. Once I am not oncall with work. I will take a picture of it for you.

im sorry about the VERY LATE response to the thread, i been a little buisy.. and i just took pictures two days ago.. the best that i can do is link you to my cardomain page
http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2271312 look on all three pages, got pictures of my sound system, and everything.. i have the same whelen siren as shown in the picture obove by brian, but i had to use a mounting bracket from a crown victoria because i did not have fast access to a mount for an explorer...just didnt wanna wait... i will take pictures of the rear strobes again when it stops raining and when its dark outside so hopefully i can get them on camera.. and ill do the same for the front.. they blink too fast, i need to change the pattern. once again im very sorry about the late response.. i have been going to some crank it up shows in the area... took second place in both events, been real buisy.

Tex, what brand of wig-wags are those?

Its the basic Galls wig-wag system.

very nice display of colors Tex! i am planning on doing my tails the exact same way, except with all clear strobes. having 2 seperate control boxes for the strobes 2 lights to each box with one of being in the top of the brake lights and the other light being in the bottom of the break lights. and then to fill up the remaining 6 plug holes in the control moduels, i am going to put sum on my underbody facing down...i will have two on each side of the truck, and one up front and one in the rear...i want some in my headlights or in my corners but i have clears, and i am preeeetty sure that drilling a 1inch hole in them and putting an extra light would be noticable. ;0 any suggestions?

Just so you know, all my strobes are clear. When you put them in the amber part of the tail light they shine amber. The strobes in my reverse lights just look blue from the camera, they are actually clear also and shine that way when viewed with the eye and not through a camera.

Cool, I've found out that Federal makes a tailight wig-wag for Ford vehicles.

yeah all mine are clear too...i was showin them off to a cop and he liked mine better then his..he only had the slow headlight and tailight wigwag system that uses the factory lightbulbs.. and the lightbar. i have noticed that in my reverse light strobes they have the sliiiiiightest blue tint, but they are bright!

he was in a 1998 explorer with the 5.0 police package...i would have liked to get a piece of that engine for my truck, haha. i just cant wait until the sheriffs department that my brother works for gets some new vehicles...i hope they get sum explorers 1995-1997..so i can get some new parts..and tuneups. its not a big city so they dont buy new vehicles often.

LED Lights

I bought LED Slim lights and flasher for my 98 Explorer from remindustries.com they have great prices, fast shipping and greeat customer service. They also make LED light strips to custom sizes. For my siren speaker I mounted it on my lower rad brace. It seems to work great there.

Hello everyone,

I'm a volunteer firefighter from NY. I just bought a used 2006 Ford Explorer XLT. I would like to install Grill lights, Led hide-awaysin the fog and tail lights. I like todo everything myself,So I learn as I go...But I found this site here,Which is a wealth of information. My main questions are the installations of the power wires,I want it to look professional, As well as done on a professional level,Such as having power only when ignition is on etc... Also will be adding more lights over time,as well as a sub/amp. Thanks for any input, Answers,Or pics :)

Keep it discreet..you dont want alot of bulky lights and stuff..I used to run the whelen 90 watt 6 strobe hide-a-way kit with an led dash light..couldnt hardly tell i was anything until i turned my stuff on.. 4 strobes in the front and the dash light..i was seen very well..do some research and look at youtube videos to get some ideas
