Plugs, wires, coil pack
97AWD 5.0
My truck started to sputter while at idle and has been hesitating upon take off...my check engine light finally came on and after hooking up the sensor I got a cylinder 3 misfire code. I just recently changed my plugs and wires but decided to change the plug anyway. No change in the symptoms but I reset the computer and waited. The next day the check engine light came back on and gave me the same code, cylinder 3 misfire. I pulled the plug and it had not been firing at all. This led me to changing the coil pack, which I just did a few hrs ago. I again reset the computer and my light has not come back on however, my truck still sputters and shakes at idle just like it would if there was a misfire
Could a wire really go bad in under 5 months? The picture below is the main vac hose (emissions crap) it had come apart so I temporarily repaired it until my new one arrives. Is this simply a coincidence to the above issues or could this be adding to the problem. I don't think so...but ya'll know better than me.
Thanks...AGAIN!
