I did a quick search, but could not anything relating to my exact problem.
I was on my way home last night, when during a driving snow storm, I had stopped in the middle of the road because I couldn't see any longer, and I felt that dreadful feel of the truck sinking into Deep snow.
After I stopped, I thought I had the trans in Neutral, and attemped to put the TC in 4Low. Being that the snow was coming at an angle from right to left (and into the engine compartment) I just didn't want to get stuck, and at that point I realized I was not in 4Low. I put it in N again, and this time engaged 4Low and was able to get back on the road.
Now, I look down and see the orange wrench on the IP, and the words "Engine Failsafe Mode Activated" on the display panel.
I drove the rest of the way home fine (about 15 minutes) and when I got in the Garage, shut it down and restarted - the IP light was gone and so was the message.
Any ideas?
