I have a '99 eddie bauer 4.0 the motor needed a head gasket or head or block or whatever. i figured since i have to yank the engine anyway i might as well just replace it. so the harness on my donor engine is slightly different(the small connector that goes down by the transmission on the passenger side.) on the donor there are 2 and they are green. on mine there is only one and it is grey.

so i had cut the harness on the existing motor not planning on reusing it. now i need to solder it back together.

the problem is that there are several wires in there that are the same colors.

anyone have a diagram for it?

well i just ended up stripping the coating to track down the sameness of the wires. the two orange wires and the 2 (i think) brown with yellow stripe wires all join together into one wire so no big deal there. and there are 2 red with white stripe wires...one of the white stripes is slightly fatter than the other...a kinda stupid distinction if you ask me.

Sorry took me so long to get to this.

So did you get it figured out? I could look through my stuff for the 2000 which should be the same for your 99.

What year did your donor motor come out of? I presume 4.0 SOHC?

it's a 4.0 SOHC...i don't actually know what the donor came out of. i bought it already pulled.

there are a couple of subtle differences.

there is no sensor in the side of the oil pan. the fuel feed is 2 lines instead of one. and the aforementioned difference in the harness.

so i'll be using a lot of stuff from the existing motor.
