Engine Hiccup...

About a week ago I was letting my 2003 Explorer Sport Trac warm up for work like I been doing for months. When I heard a small muffled backfire from under the hood. But tonight when I was walking out the house door to my truck (which was warming) up and I heard the sound again. I haven't got any mods as far as the engine goes if that helps. The only mods I really have is exhaust (40 series Flowmaster w/ tip). I was just wondering if you guys might know something to look at or a cheap fix and save me a few dollars something I don't have a lot of. Thanks In Advance!

check spark plugs and wires.... mine was doing this for a while and it went away i had an cyl miss firing its back now and so is the cel but im working on it
