Engine Knock

Aloha,

2004 EB 4.0.

Car was running fine on Friday. Rained all weekend. When I started it on Monday there was this engine knock. Knocks with the serpentine belt removed. Put in seafoam and ran it for a while, no change. Drove it a few minutes ago. No codes. Runs fine except for the knocking.

Any ideas or comments will be appreciated.

If it's a spun bearing (which causes the connecting rod to slap the crank on the up and down stroke) you'll have glitter in your oil from the bearing disintegrating.
