i was wondering if a engine oil cooler is something worth investing in for my ex, it is a 93 EB with a 4.0L and an A4LD auto tranny. what are the positives (if any) of the engine oil cooler?

also im thinking about a 3in suspension lift for it, what would be the best way for that on a tight budget?

any one? i was also thinking of a dual oil filter setup, any thoughts?

I had a dual oil filter set up on my old 89 Sable. I don't think it really made a difference. The Transdapt fittings would leak from time to time. Invest in a stacked plate transmission cooler instead. You could look into an Amsoil oil bypass filtration system for the engine like AlDive has. He makes oil changes every 25k miles.

If the choice is between an engine oil cooler or a transmission cooler for the a4ld the trans cooler is by far more important.

The a4ld isn't the strongest transmission and heat will kill it. A good cooler will keep it from overheatings and assuming you take care of it, should help it last much longer.

The 4.0 motor (ohv at least) is a tank of a motor.. There are many that have over 200k miles and I don't think I've read about anyone using an oil cooler on them.

Yeah there's no need for an oil cooler. A trans cooler is a better thing to do.

oh ok what about a lift, what would be the best options on a budget?

Suspension Lift or Body Lift?
