engine oil cooler

i have a 1993 explorer with the 5 speed tranny.
i pull a a small camper and im thinking of adding an engine oil cooler for the added protection. has anyone used one or can give me the lowdown on them , as in do they work well , or worth the trouble.

I don't think an engine oil cooler is really necessary. They aren't discussed around here too often. But what is discussed around here is tranny coolers for the autos. I see you have the 5 speed, so you don't have to worry about that. Cooler oil does a better job of protecting the engine, but it's probably not worth the trouble to install one. Just my 0.02.
