How much overhead clearance do I need to remove the engine? I am working in a garage with about 3.5 feet above the radiator top support, please tell me it's enough.
I am not sure really but I did help a friend remove an engine in his garage that wasnt tall enough. We took off the tires and dropped the truck down till the rotors were about 1in from the ground and we got it out. That took 4 jacks and 4 guys though. Good luck.
Measure the height of the engine, the thickness of the boom, the vertical height of the lift chain and add them together. I had to leave clearance under the vehicle for the boom legs to move freely.
