2005 Sport Trac 4.0 w/ 30,000 miles.
Recent problem popped up with the Sport Trac. When starting the truck, the engine seems to rev high as soon as starts. It almost sounds as though your foot is on the gas at the time of ignition. It instantly returns to a normal idle after a second or two.
I was thinking of putting some fuel injector cleaner, but, then I started wondering if there was a sensor that could be dirty somewhere. Any ideas?
There also seems to be a slight rattle that goes away quickly at start up. Normally, I would think the heat shield from the cat was loose and vibrating, but, the rattle doesn't happen at all while driving. Any suggestions about what I should check under the truck?
Both issues are very recent to pop up.
