Details:
Ford Explorer 4x4 - 1991 w/ 135k miles
Whenever we drive for a long time (50 miles or more) without stopping. When we come to a stop, the engine seems to stall a lose a lot of power and finally dies. It starts right back up and runs fine after that. What could be causing this?
Other particulars:
Live in Texas - 95 to 105 Heat everday
In the last year have replaced the O2 Sensors and cleaned the MAF sensor. Needs new spark plugs and am going to replace the wires soon. A vacumm line to the Tranny is not on. I have a screw in the hole where the vacumm line goes in to stop the sucking sound and help with the engine ideling.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Donnie Penney
