engine swap question

does anyone know if a 4.0L v6 OHV manual engine has the same bolt pattern as that of a automatic. and would there be any issues with that engine swap. i'm not sure if the year really matters but it's a 97 sport, going into a 98 xlt.

The bellhousing pattern between the the two will be the same. Where you have to be careful is the crankshaft. If you're putting an engine from an auto into a stick car, you need to ensure the rear of the crank is drilled, finished, and has a pilot bearing for the input shaft of the trans. Many with an auto don't do that step from the factory and the crank can't be used without machining.
