hi jay jay
intrested to know what the cause of the rattle turne out to be as it went away when it warmed up.
cheers chris

the front tenshioner is f##ked and the plastic on the guide is lose ive made up something to stop it moveing about ill get a pic up to show u.the rest of the motor its self is sweet and in really good nick

Hey there
If you want to fix it properly the front tensioner can be bought for not a lot
Front%20tensioner.jpg

It is $29 from tascaparts.com.(though at the mo its looking like tasca aren't shipping too quickly!)
I imagine its about £40-£50 from uk dealers. Small price to pay for peace of mind.

there fine but the tensioners not.ive just done it for peace of mind as there is a little play in the guide and when i had the chains done on my last engine this is were thay went.

hi jay jay
hi have a new modified tensioned here but not the rest of the oo2m kit. can let you have it for £15 if you collect. cheers chris

Bit of confusion here! The tensioner in the kit is the bolt type thing that screws into the head shown below

The front crank to jackshaft chain has a tensioner guide, shown in the photo in my post above, one side of it and a guide the other side. Below is a photo of the front of engine showing the guide on the left of the chain and the space where the spring loaded guide should be hence a slack chain.
