I have a 98 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer Edition with a 4.0 SOHC motor in it and i just replace the motor and now all of a sudden i am coming up with three different codes p1131, p1132, p1152 I have cleaned the MAF and replaced the tps what could this be can anyone help me i have tried just about everything and the only thing left to replace on this truck is the two O2 sensors on the drivers side i have already replaced both of them on the passengers side.

Thank you,
Michael

Was it a reman/new motor? You have rich codes bank 1and 2 and lean bank 1. Sounds like either vacuum leak or possible fuel concern.

It was a used motor with 110000 miles on it out of a 2001 explorer we set everything on it back to a 98 and i have checked all of the vacuum lines multiple times and have already replaced 2 out of 4 02 sensors

O2 sensor connections?

P1131 Lack of Upstream Heated Oxygen Sensor Switch - Sensor Indicates Lean - Bank No. 1
P1132 Lack of Upstream Heated Oxygen Sensor Switch - Sensor Indicates Rich - Bank No. 1
P1152 Lack of Upstream Heated Oxygen Sensor Switch - Sensor Indicates Rich - Bank No. 2

My first guess would be that your Bank 1 (passenger side) O2 sensor is not connected since the PCM can't force the air/fuel mixture to be lean or rich as reported by the O2 sensor. However, you don't have any O2 sensor malfunction DTCs. You may have your precat and post cat O2 sensor connections swapped. Try disconnecting one O2 sensor connector and see what failure the PCM reports.

the two sensors on the passenger side are not crossed and are hooked up properly could it be the upstream 02 sensor on the drivers side giving the codes telling the computer that it needs more fuel cause it is eating fuel alive and it gets worse the warmer it gets i am stumped i have no clue please help.

A/F ratio cycling

When the PCM switches from open loop to closed loop it continuously varies the A/F ratio between slightly lean and slightly rich as reported by the precat O2 sensor. Your DTCs indicate that the PCM is not able to accomplish either A/F condition on the passenger side within the programmed limits. Right now I cannot think of any failure that would result in only the reported DTCs you have posted other than an incorrect O2 sensor connection. If you disconnect one sensor you should get numerous DTCs such as heater circuit malfunction and sensor limits exceeded all associated with the sensor disconnected. I suggest that you disconnect the easiest one to access and see if the reported DTC is for that location.

Thank you everyone for the help when I hooked up the o2 sensors I had the wires reversed like an idiot stupid mbistake and it runs like a top now.
