According to Ford explorer brochures:

2011 3.5L FWD:
City 17 MPG

Highway 25 MPG

2012 3.5L FWD:
City 18 MPG

Highway 25 MPG

Is this difference in city EPA estimates between 2011 vs. 2012 a typo on the brochures?
OR, did they really change something on vehicle, for example engine calibration?
If that's the case, then I am missing 1 MPG city compared to the vs. 2012 :wtf: :D

I have a 2012 LTD, fwd, I made a 120 mile trip, and average 18.7 on freeway/ city, I'm getting about 1.2 better per tank of gas. Some older threads, guys were getting better mileage after 5 k or better.

This was discussed in an earlier thread, Ford made some transmission programming tweaks and EPA retested and got a better score.

I have a question please:

Coud the 2011 transmission model be reprogrammed similar to the 2011?
If so, would the dealers do it?
