Bone stock 2007 explorer with a 4.0 .When I get in and start it the idle fluxuates and sometimes goes even higher when going from park to rev. and from there to drive. Is there something I can do or do I need to take it in?
Thanx Kevin 619-977-5672 San Diego

Your idle will be a little high when the engine is cold. It will be around 1200-1300 rpms. Once it warms up itll drop to around 800-900 rpms. Its like a fuel injection systems choke to allow the engine to run a little rich when its cold.

Does the engine shutter or shake at all? Sounds like a possible vacuum leak.

No,it doesnt shake or shudder(insinuating a vac leak I presume?).It definately fluxuates though.Car can even be up to temp and I'll stop to go in a store and come out a few minutes later and it will do it again. Its just out of warranty.what a bummer.I just hope it doesnt end too expensive.I kind of think its some sort of high idle sensor of some sort. Not too familliar with all this newage stuff.
Thanx for the reply

MAF. IAC. Coolant temp sensor. Are good places to start.
