Erractic idling when cold.

i have a 98 explorer ohc 4.0 when its cold outside the vehicle starts but stalls right away but if u plug it in it will idle fine the only way it will run is u keep your foot on the gas for 10 minutes until engine warms up it happens at about -10 or colder usually u have to put your foot on the gas to start it once it warms up it idles fine with a little miss

What do you mean plug it in?

(My 92 has a BAD idle like that when the engine warms if I turn it off, then back on within 20-50 minutes).
