looking for new shocks i stumbled across 4wheelparts.com EVEN though i NEVER go offroading
http://www.4wheelparts.com/4wp/packages/index.asp?ParentPacID=46#

this weekend you can get 4 ES3000 shocks and a steering stablizer 5 shocks boots, plus free shipping...
this intrests me very much...but i have questions on them and 4wheelparts.com
i would like to get these and throw them under my stock height 97 sport...
my questions include
1. are the es3000's good for 100% Road driving?
2. how the hell do you specify your truck application on 4wheelparts.com??? very confused about this
3. could a steering stablizer be used on a stock height truck? would it do any good?

thanks people
ryan

sad to see the lack of a response on these thread for these shocks...
in need of some shocks i recently purchased this package.
ive yet to install them, so i dont know how they will turn out yet.
they only have the stablizer for 1st gen. :(
i still cant login to 4wp.com so i just ended up callin them to order.
i called the internet hotline, not the yahoos at my local store whom have never worked on an ex.
if there is interest, i will post all the info i gather installing and using these.

well i stumbled back across this lonely thread...
the shocks stiffened up the explorer in the turns...its nice to have that confidence back on the highway.
i wouldnt recommend them to everyone tho.
the ride was also stiffened. i dont mind since i like to think of the ex as a truck. but others might find it too uncomfortable.
i've yet to try any decent offroadin with them. they seem like they will do nicely.

IMO ES3000's act a bit more like the stock equipment... at least that's what I noticed on my truck... and replaced them with a bit stiffer Skyjackers. My truck was sitting 6 inches taller and riding on 33's though and I felt like I was riding on a boat.

If you noticed difference than it could be due to your old shocks being worn.

4wd - I usually call in my orders since over the net you might order wrong stuff. I did make a mistake once but they called me before shipping to make sure that it was what I wanted.
