Estimated Delivery Date no order or VIN

My dealer told me my vehicle is expected to be delivered around 10/13. They don't have a VIN for me yet and say that it doesn't get a VIN until it is completed. Is this accurate? They told me they had their sales rep swap out a stock order for my order so it would get built sooner. I ordered the end of August. Thanks in advance.

The VIN comes 2 or 3 weeks before the build (sometimes sooner). They can't have a delivery date w/out having a blend date, build date, and VIN number. The rep you talked to may not understand the process well, I would ask the sales manager to give you the details of your order (order number and dealership code) so you can have Cory give you a proper status update.

The VIN comes 2 or 3 weeks before the build (sometimes sooner). They can't have a delivery date w/out having a blend date, build date, and VIN number. No issues... I keep reading the invalid vin error over and over because my window sticker isn't available yet. I also visit the build and price page about 6 times a day to look at mine

Does anyone know if the build date is the start date or the finished date? I know it only takes like 18-20 hours, but for those that started on the night shift it can make a difference.

Very bummed right now. Just found out even though my vehicle is marked in transit and on a train its estimated delivery is 10 days after initial estimates. Was hoping to see it before my wife goes into labor, but doesn't look like that will happen. 18 days to ship from build date to dealer seems very excessive.

From most threads I see people get their cars a few days prior to the scheduled date, sometimes a week before. This isn't to say that your date isn't accurate, but I wouldn't lose hope you'll get it sooner.

It feels good to know I am not the only one who is obsessed with this slow ordering process (lol). When I ordered I thought oh the wait will not be that bad.....boy was I wrong. At least I have a VIN now, so it's a step forward

This is exactly why I always say the date is “subject to change,” 13Sport.

I ordered around the end of August. I never got my order number, but I got my VIN from Cory around the 26th of September. It was built on the 6th of October.
