ETA crutchfield backorder

Has anybody ordered a backordered product on Crutchfield before? I ordered an Alpine 9883 HU 2/29, and it's ETA was 3/6 for a while, but on the sixth it is no longer listed and when clicked on from my orders page, it is now discontinued. I was just wondering how long this has taken for other people, thanks.

Crutchfield seems to be one of the more expensive places to buy that HU:

We don't even sell it for that price at the shop I work at. I believe dealer cost is $75 and we sell it for like $125 retail. (but we don't ship, so I wouldn't be able to get it for you) I hope I'm not confusing it the the cde-9881.... But I don't believe so.

eh yeah I got it for $170 + free shipping + free ipod adapter + free install gear so it was really the best deal I could find online. But yeah I called them and they simply told me there is no pattern on how long backorders take and they are all random. =(

They should be able to tell you when the next set is coming in from the supplier/manufacturer.

It's possible that they are waiting for the new model to come in since the one you ordered was discontinued and is no longer available.
