Hey guys, I've got question for you. I know that I've got an open 3.73 rear differential on a 2WD sport, but I'm getting excessive spin on my right rear. It mostly happens when it's wet even if I don't hit the gas too hard. My tires are near the end, but still have decent tread on them.

The big question I have is why the right rear is doing it that bad and I can't even get the driver's side to spin if I tried. Is that how Ford set it up or could I have a problem?

nope, your fine. thats what an open diff. does. as for the spin maybe a little better tire will control the spin.

Get a locker or limited slip and better tires. For an open diff with bald tires, that's perfectly normal.

The open diff will always send power to the tire with the least resistance. In most caes it will either be the tire on the inside of a corner or right rear tire in a stright line.

The right rear will usually always spin first in a straight line because generally these trucks are heavier in the driver's side (gas tank and driver) plus the direction that the driveshaft spins creates a torque on the rear axle that slightly un-weights the right side.
