I'm on my 5th time havin to drop out my C4 tranny, and I"m tired of the crossover pipe right below the tranny, makes it REAL hard to get the tranny out, esp, when the tranny is about 4' off the ground when its in the truck, so my quesiton is, do y'all think it will hinder me performance wise or just in plain "good idea" fashion to cut the downpipes from each exhaust manifold off right above the O2 sensors, and then have a muffler shop bring both sides down and back farther to right in front of the tranny crossmember, weld in o2 bungs in the stock location, and then weld in a 3bolt flange on each side, and then bring the new crossover pipe across to the pass. side right in front of the tranny crossmember, that way, if I ever need to drop the tranny again, I just unbolt those two flanges, drop the entire exhaust down, and drop the tranny straight down. you think the drivers side downpipe would be too close to the fuel fliter (protected by a metal plate now) or anything else to make this idea not be a good one?? any opinions would help. I hope y'all can understand what I'm sayin.

anybody?

kinda iffy on the picture, but i think if you keep the 02 sensors in the stock location you would be fine. i plan in the summer when i get my th headers is to make a whole new exhuast header back.

Although it sounds like a good idea, you will have major interference issues with the front driveline. The exhaust has to cross over to the passenger side at the front of the tranny, in order to clear the front driveshaft.

well, the reason I think that that won't be a problem is that I"m no longer runnig the 1354 or the a4ld. I'm running a C4/D20 combo. but I'm also not gonna go anything until after the tranny it back in and the driveshafts are in. thanks for the heads up though, I'll def. double check everything.
