I was on summit racing and I am not sure what flowmaster to order. I want the 50 delta flow, but with 2.25 piping. They dont have a single in dual out muffler with 2.25 in and 2.25 out. But the do have it for the 40 delta? I dont want to buy the wrond thing take it to the shop only to have them tell me it wont work...Those of you with this setup with duals on the 1st gen, which muffler do I need, I dont know if it is ok to have a different size going in, because there is only like 2 options for the 2.25 dual exit....???

They can cut the tips off of the muffler and weld smaller ones if you need em, my 91 explorer has a delta 40 series and it fits perfectly and sounds like a mustang. Exhaust shops will do anything if you pay them....

any exhaust shop worth thier salt can make it work. 2 and 1/4 or 2 and 1/2. they can make adapters to fit or they can just expand the pipe to fit a 2 and 1/2 muffler (unless its an exsiting pipe) so it really makes no difference if you go either size. I know the 2 and 1/2 mufflers have a bigger variety of sizes and inlet outlet options. you could also look into differnt manufacturers.

will having a 3 inch in, 2.25 out effect anything since it is 3 inches going in not 2.25, like stock, I dont want to lose back pressure, will the bigger inlet affect that or is it just the size of the exiting pipes.? Also, will 2 inch pipes exiting the dual, really rob power compared to the 2.25, or will it be better? What should I expect with 2.25 in and 2 inches out??
