Wow, I'll be at the dealer on Monday. Thanks for the post!

After about 7k miles I am getting a significant rattle and vibrations into the steering wheel and the whole car each time the rpms are at 1,500-1,700 when at operating temperature. Looked under the car and I saw the flex on the right side with the whole line vibrating and banging against the car at these rpms, especially on the way down. Seems there is a tsb for this (in a form of installing a clamp around the flex, really Ford??) but I was wondering if others experienced this and if the tsb fixed it or something else will fix it. Thanks!

Your thread was merged with this one on the same issue.

Thank you. I am booked next week for the tsb fix and I’ll update here. Would be great to get more info from anyone else who encountered this issue if the fix has worked out or not.

Soooo the ST is in at Ford dealer and the tech called me to tell me it’s normal and that they will apply the TSB for me to assess after the installation of the clamp. The “it’s normal” statement is really a bad sign. I can see with naked eye how the flex is vibrating, plus the vibrations in the steering wheel and the rattle noise caused by this can be heard and felt, it’s is appalling for a 60k car. Any advice?

Probably just try a new Ford service dealership.

Yes will do for sure (in case the tsb doesn’t fix it). Anyone with the same issue? Would be helpful to know what helped to fix the issue. Thanks!

The TSB isn’t working. There is nothing a Ford dealership can do I am told so I am really annoyed. Ford knows there is an issue as they have a TSB for this. I will ask for replacing the problematic exhaust line where the flex is.

Does anyone know what is the path to take when a TSB isn’t fixing the issue the TSB has been created for?

Update: with a bit of the push the dealership has backed up from the "normal operation" bullshit and they are taking in my car on Monday with the intent to "fix" it. They compared with an another ST and stated it's different. I'll keep you posted.

UPDATE

Happy new year!

It took so long because the Ford dealership kept my vehicle the whole 2 weeks over Christmas. The TSB hasn't worked out at all so they contacted Ford Engineering who asked the dealership to replace the whole exhaust tubes with the flex on them with ones with a new design. Yes you heard "new design". So clearly Ford has tried to fix this problem they were aware of, at design level. Now the result after the change: it's day and night. It is still there a little bit but WAY better. Now to fix it entirely, they ordered a new engine support because they think that's the source of the issue. It's on back order so I'll update you once the part is available and mounted on the vehicle.

The sad part is I really had to push quite hard to make them take care of it. Once they took care of it I can say they are doing a good job at the dealership to really fix it for good I hope.

Oh, that's great news, so there is a design change as well with the exhaust, interesting. All the best with the final engine support part, keep us posted.
