i dont have pics, cause it isnt complete yet, but i plan to have my dual exhaust coming out of holes in my roll pan. the tips are going to be chrome and stick out 2-3 inches, and have switch activated leds inside them (my truck is going to have leds everywhere, for when i go to car meets around here). im gonna go with flowmaster and probably 2-1/2 pipes

maybe thell stick out a little more than 2 inches (thinking back, thats not 2 far). how big pipes should i go?

hmmm just a idea, but does anyone know if it would be possible to install a dual 2 pipe exhaust (4 tips)

Which engine do you have? 2 1/4" is kind of the norm for duals on Explorers. If you got duals you could just get some split tips.

After looking at a ruler, having them stick out like 2 inches wouldn't be bad.

Here's a link to some pics of my pipes.

I was looking at some of your pics and would like to know where you got the billet grill from? The truck looks great!

I got the billet grille on ebay from wee12.

you could do what i did and go for the biggest setup you can find.

what to do what to do

i like X24's setup with the turndowns but dont wanna rip them off when im off road.

im not sure if i like them coming straight out on a stock bumper. got more pics like that?

anyone else got any other ideas? what about dumps right out of the mufflers?

anyone running a true dual exhaust or just dual tailpipes?

i think most people run dual pipes only. not true dual. if i remember right wouldnt we lose alot of compression like that?

You would lose back pressure.

Running two separate systems would be harder and probably cost more. I could only see this being effective on a V8 and even then I would think a single muffler would be better because it would act as an X pipe (unless you had an X pipe put in the system somewhere).

Even though it's not real duels or even two tubes, I made my own duel tip side pipe. Forget about a muffler if you do them, you better like you X loud.

That's a sweet looking Explorer. I was told that it was illegal to have the exhaust exit before the wheels though.

it is illegal now. but most cops dont enforce it to much. can be hard to get inspections. but it is very nice.

nice X btw.

woah didnt know that. any specific reason or are they just being F***ers about it?

has to do with exhaust fumes and entering the cabin of the vehicel. really touchy. stupid imo.

the only cars that can get away with it now without much hassel is those with it from factory. i know of a new mercedes and also Roush mustangs.

most shops dont mess with it too much. i know of one here that wont, but the rest will. i dont know about inspections though. but i never worry about inspections. im good friends with my inspection guy.

yah i made good freinds with mine after i got my exhaust out on as well:D . they may have a point but not much of one.

That is what I was told when I was wondering exiting my exhaust out the side as well. I think it's safety issues with exhaust in the cabin. With trucks though the cab is further up in front of the rear wheels so it's still exiting behind the cab. Such as on the Lightning. I would still like to get it done that way, would be cheaper than having them bend the pipes all the way out the back.
