Ran into a bit of a problem the other day......my ride got very loud very quickly.

Ramped it and took a look underneath it. I am guessing it's due to the amounts of salt they use on the roads where i live.

I have been watching a lot of vids on youtube of different Flowmasters (hard to tell tho with how bad some of the qualities are on there) and was thinking about the 40 series Delta Flow. I am looking for a bit of good sound when she's working....but not obnoxious and can be reasonable at night to not wake everyone up. Also was looking at the pricetags of new cat converters and wanted to see if anyone knew of any compatible cheaper solutions. The stock one was ungodly expensive.

Any help or input would be greatly appreciated :)

I have knock off Flowmasters on my Explorer and one of my Rangers. They are like Street Effects brand or something like that, I can't remember, got them for about $40 each at my local exhaust shop. Dual chamber 2.25". They sound great, I have cats on the Explorer and it's a bit quieter. I had a real Flowmaster on the Explorer before but one of the baffles broke off inside. The next mufflers look EXACTLY like the Flowmaster but aren't stamped with anything.

Vehicle-specific cats are pricey. One option is a universal fit cat with the correct diameter inlet and outlet, and have a muffler shop graft it in.

Magnaflow stainless always my fav value, long lasting, and throaty enough in my non-teenage years, but no where near as loud as a Flowmaster style in the mid where it drones on them. On any of my high hp builds over the years, always made more power with the magnaflow straight through style mufflers than a chambered flowmaster. Flowmaster always had a cool sound though on some applications.
