Exhaust weep hole

I'm very well aware of the muffler weep holes. On my vehicle the mufflers are at the rear of the vehicle but GMVA says his stains are at the rear of the engine. Thus my question.

With the questionable quality of some of theses explorers could be leaking at the manifold connection. It's always easier when people post pictures. But, without said pictures were just guessing at the problem.

Possible there’s a small exhaust leak at a joint that seals well it heats up.

I have a 2020 Platinum Explorer with 19,000 miles and have had the same sooting issue since new, even after the dealer replaced the exhaust system from catalytic converter rearward. The stain migrated to the rear engine area.

Usually the exhaust steam vapor cools and condenses further down the pipe like at the muffler+.

1) Are you sure this isn't just A/C condensate?

2) What is the consistency of the drip? Oily, or water based? I'd put down white paper to catch some, and see if it will dry and what's left behind.
