I bought a set of halogen fog/headlights a while ago for like 50 buck. How much better are the hella's and the piaa's then a normal set of lights, and are they worth the extra cash (not that i have any cash at the moment).

Thanks

Alot of the difference is the way the lense is cut. I myself run 4 sets of cheap lights and 1 set of Hellas. I think the Hellas are probably a bit brighter (55W) beam but I am not sure because I have not looked at them head on at night.

The area you get kicked at is in fact the lens and bulb. However sometimes a cheaper set of lights do the same type of job as expensive ones. How often do you use them and for what purposes???? Why spend several hundred dollars on a light you never need???

leevo, beat me to it, I was just going to say if you never use em, any set of lights will do :). But if you use em a lot, you'll want a more quality one.

Ya....I beat you by about 5 hours. You're close. :) Lamah...right now I'm mostly running cheap lights. That's what I needed. I wanted to put some lights in some areas that are going to be prone to damage no matter what I do. I'd rather not go with some expensive lights since I'll break them no matter what I do. Lights are almost always a purchase of need. If you need a ton of light you're going to pay for it....if you need a little light you'll save the money.

Jeff ,

Unless you're planning to do the Baja 500 I wouldn't blow a small fortune on lights. I put a $25 set of 55W driving lights in my 94 from JC Whitney. They were small enough to get into the vents in the front bumper. Also bought some for a friend's Pathfinder for $35. They are even brighter. There are good deals out there if you don't buy name brands like Hella,Bosch or PIAA .

Well, I love having a "ton" of lights on my truck. I know I've just about got $800 worth of lights on my truck, but that's what I wanted. And on occasion, I use the lights. But I like to just stand back and look at how good my truck looks with a bunch of KC lights.

You get what you pay for.

Sean

That's exactly right.

here here patrick :). replace KC with PIAA and we're practically twins! LOL.
