Hi,
I'm new here and I got to this site because I'm thinking on making some adjustments to my explorer. I'm not a smart guy in terms of stuffs that I can use/do for modifications so I wanted to use your experience on this type of things.
I have an explorer 2002 XLS 4x4 4.0 with 80K miles.
I have a couple of things in mind for my explorer, first... I need to fix the 4x4... I bought the car 5 months ago and according to the previous owner, the 4x4 was disconnected in order to save some $ in gasoline but he couldn't give me much information about what they did to disconnect it. Actually I'm not sure if it works or not, the light of the controls in the front board it's not turn on and when I click on the 4x4 low, no light turns on in the car dashboard neither a change in the car performance happen so I don't have any idea what is going on.
Another doubt is that I bought BF All terrain 235/70 R16, which is the original size from FORD manufacturer but when I bought them, I never thought that if I was planning on lift the car, how these tires will look after lifting the car. Does anybody have an idea of how much I can lift the car without needing a change of the tires/rimes. I bought them 3 months ago so they are practically new.
My other ideas are to put a small bull bar with fog lights included but this might be after fixing the 4x4 and lifting the car.
I would appreciate it all the information that can be provided for my doubts/questions...
