I was wondering what I can do to get some more horses out of my 92 Ford Explorer 4x4 XLT.

I have Flowmaster 50 series exhaust, a Shoreline Technologies Chip, Homemade Cold Air Intake, new plugs, wires.

Is there anything easy I can do, like clean something etc.
Anything cheap for sale out there?

do a general tuneup

welcoem to the site, this section is used to introduce yourself. tech stuff usually goes in its respective forum. you may wnat to look into the need for speed section of our website. www.hensonperformancee.com is a great source. never heard of a shoreline technologies chip. wonder if its a real power adder or one of those 5nickel resistor supposed mods of ebay. the site i listedabove is an entusiast, and also a member here, he tunes an explroer that is setup quite nicely, he is a great resource

I moved this thread to the "Need For Speed!" section.

Well I did a tuneup, I was looking through some threads and found a hi-po coil pack for explorers. Are they good? I'm not really knowledgable in motors with coils lol.

And I went to hensonperformance.com and saw those SCT programmers, I've been wanting one of those for a while. Is there any place I can get it cheaper?

henson is top notch, you cna get teh sct cheaper somewhere else, but its a package deal, they sct is jsut a tuner, it is programmed by whoever... henson has awesome tunes setup on the ones you get from him

as far as the coil packs, they will help to an extent... do a search for aldives quest for 30 or mileage monster.... the mods he has will increase power, and driven conservatively will improve mileage

Cold air intake.
msd wires and cap/rotor
high flow cat convertor

Change all fluids to synthetic

We don't have cap and rotors on our Explorers. NONE of them, with any motor had a cap & rotor.

91-01 4.0L V6 OHV was DIS
96-01 5.0L V8 OHV was DIS
96-08 4.0L V6 SOHC is DIS
02-08 4.6L V8 SOHC is DIS

As of right now, there is not a readily available True Cold air intake for the 1st Gen Explorer. There are many OPEN AIR intakes. I have one on my `92.

Everyone confuses, and interchanges the difference between the Cold Air, and Open Air intakes.

I would install an underdrive pulley. It is a mod which is well worth the money.-j

Woops my bad Guru...was thinking of 87 thru 93 5.0's :D

well here is what I have as of now:
Jet Chip
Flowmaster Super 44 Muffler
80mm MAF sensor
160 degree thermostat
Homemade Cold Air Intake
Accel Coil Pack
Plugs / Wires
hollowed cats

im thinking something along the lines of fuel injectors...
and i have a autometer Air/Fuel ratio gauge.
the problem with that is when i start the truck cold it will be in "stoich". But when it warms up it will jump from lean to rich and keep going back and forth. Any help with that too?
