I have a couple of questions i would like to ask. I have just purchased a 1999 V6. the fist thing is im looking to make most of that thumping 4 litre by changing the back part of my exhaust. the only thing is im fiinding it a little difficult since im in the UK and there really aren't that many about. i cant find anyone that can provide me with a back box that will make a difference to the sound. The only option i have so far is a mechanic i know is prepared to remove that little silencer box (just as the pipe goes over the axle) and replace it with a straight through pipe. Im sure this isnt ideal and im really not to sure what kind of sound its going to make either. I want somehting real deep and rumbly.
My next issue is with the wheels. Is it just me or does anyone else think that the wheels on some explorers sit way to far in the wheel arches?
It sometimes looks like its going to fall over from some angles. So im thinking about putting some spacers behind the standard wheels to try to fill outt he arches a little. The only thing i can see being a problem here is extra stress and strain on the bearings and the bolts maybe?
Any thoughts would be most helpful.
I love my car but it just needs a couple of little touches to really make it stand out.
Oh one other thing, (are you still awake?..lol) does anyone have problems with the brake lights going out before the pedal comes all the way back up?
I changed the switched and it made no difference. It looks like play on the shaft that the switch sits around. Just not sure what to do about it. Again any help would be most appreciated on these issues.
Sorry to throw so much out three all at once but im new to all this forum stuff, so if i do anything wrong please feel free to let me know.
I await your replies with interest.
Thanks all
