My son has gotten stuck 3 times with this problem. He will be driving in the rain. No problems at all. After shutting the engine off, and waiting as little as getting a tank of gas, she won't start. Cranks like crazy and very strong, but engine will not turn over. After trying for a while, she starts like nothing was ever wrong. Anyone have any ideas?

That can be the plug wires. At night, spray a salt water mixture over the wires, start the vehicle and have a look under the hood. If you see a light show "there's your problem".
