Explorer in Bumper ad

Opened 4WD and SUV today while waiting to get my daughter from camp. Page 5 I see the back end of a white explorer with a swing out tire carrier in an advertisment.

I don't know whatever came about that revolver shackle thread but they have some pretty mean looking ones there that also lock into place for street driving.

Dre, I was looking at mind and I thought of a solution for the wiper. Not a really exciting one, just take a 45 degree cut out of the end of the carrier where it hits and weld a new piece of steel on there for reinforcement.
