every single explorer (96-2002) that i've seen is leaning back? I don't know what Ford did, but their leaf spring system is not good? every single one i see looks like there are bags of cement in the back.
and when i load mine up, it goes pretty damn low. Now i know that the leaf spring system is used on trucks, and i think it can support heavier stuff, but my toyota 4runner doesnt go low even when loaded with like cement bags at the back and it uses conventional springs.

its a fine line between comfort and sag

ok, so if i keep loading up the car, how low will it go lol? till it drops to the floor?

here is question then: Which car will be able to carry more weight, the 4runner with coil springs or the explorer?

misho- you can re-leaf the rear of your Ex or run a helper spring, pop a quick search- there are tons of threads dealing with the infamous Explorer sag, and the also infamous Explorer lean due to most of the heavy things being on the left side of the truck... :)

I think its fine the wat it is right now, just checking if others had it too. Right now im not sure which car should be used for loading up heavy stuff like cement bag lol The 4runner or the explorer. leaf springs are stronger, but damn does it go low. im not sure which one will handle more load.

The Explorer can stop. The 4-Runner :dunno: :p:

You can do f-150 springs, haven't done them myself but I'm sure it would help

ahh... the saggin ass look. hate it too. my X wasent bad up until i started pullin a 5X8 trailer around with a zeroturn 2 yrs ago. my springs with nothing in the rear of truck except my subs and sub box sit almost completly flat all the way across.

im not sure whats cheaper... getting them rearched or new ones. i will be adding a helper spring but was also looking at the air ride help for pulling trailers.

any thoughts about my ideas guys?

i only notice when i floor it and let the v8 roar...feels like im takin off into space

So what the ex likes to squat some, it will still be squatting 150,000miles later whhen you go out to use her!

I wonder if we all complain to the NTSB if they will make ford do a recall and give us new springs ?
