Explorer Overhead Console Help!!

I own a Ford Ranger, and was gonna put in a overhead console and had a question...

I know there is atleast two different kinds of the over head console... the one with the dark/blue-greenish colored display and there's the one with the bright grass-greenish colored display. Can anyone tell me which years and models of the Explorer came with the bright grass-greenish displays? Thank you!

Well, I'm probably not much help, but it is blueish-green in my 1996 Explorer and it is Grassy-green in my sister's 2006 Expedition. So Ford had to have switched sometime between 96 and 06. Sorry, 10 years is a big gap I know.

'98 they switched. You can get either one, they plug and play, the only difference is the plastic lens. It pops out, and you can pop the other one in.

If you hold it to sunlight, you can see pretty clear which it is- unlike the gauge clusters...
