Errrr damn drivers!, yesterday my mother got hit on the passager side, by a
car running a red light going about 50. Accident caused the car to roll
over. Car shut off. Mom turned out to be great, small bruises and nothing
else. (good thing there was no passager). Now this guy had no license and no
insurance. Was wondering what i need to get this truck started again? do
they have a safety switch? Also wondering, if the airbags should have gone
off.

oh man, thats horrible. i dont know about getting your truck started again, but glad to hear your mom's ok.

I believe there is a fuel shut off switch where I am not sure but if you read your owners manual on the switch it should say hope this helps!

not sure on yours, but in my instruction manual it says there is a safety fuel cutoff switch. it is located somewhere under the truck near the left side framerail near gas tank. and unles you had side impact airbags, they shouldnt deploy. getting hit from the side has nothing to do with the airbags unles you have side impact bags and then only those should be triggered. i dont think the explorers have side impact bags.

i thought the reset switch was under the dash, near the pedals...please correct me if i am wrong. oh yeah, whaat year is the injured explorer? that might help in locating the switch. glad your mom is okay, how's the truck?

**UPDATE on my '95, the reset is below the instrument cluster, at the kick panel, above the carpet. good luck!

Glad to hear your mom is okay. In my '98 the reset switch is under the dash on the passenger side near where your right foot would be.

Very happy to hear that the injuries were minor.

In my 95, the fuel pump shutoff switch is under the passenger side dashboard, way up in the upper right hand corner.

I checked on my 94 (so you have an idea on the older models too), and its under the passenger side front carpet up by the firewall. Its about 4 - 6 inches from the hump, approximately where the front passengers LEFT foot would be.
