I was at a junk yard today for work and I saw an explorer with a bench seat in the front, It looked like a ranger style seat cause it had the fold up arm rest console in it, Did they come like this in some ex models?

lol, that'd look kind of funny, i've never seen one with a bench seat in the front.

I thought it was funny looking to , whoever had it last screwed some cheap ass cup holder to floor right in front of the seat on the tranny hump.

I think it's always been an option. They are more common in early models, but are still rarely seen.

If i had a cloth intereor i would think about swapping my seat but i like my console at the same time

It was the opposite of an option... it was standard. I had one in my '93 XL.

Actually Rick has it close...buckets were standard, you got credit if you went with a bench......They were also more common on manual transmissions as opposed to autos....

I had one in mine, but like the look of buckets and a console.
