Explorer Speed limiter

Hello

I have a 97 Ford Explorer, and it won't let me go faster then 100 MPH. Is there anyway that I can take out the speed limiter?

An aftermarket chip will slightly increase performance, and will get rid of the limiter. I'd get a larger trans cooler if you will be doing any high speed highway driving, as well as some speed rated tires.

how'd you manage 100? at 91 my truck shakes so much I have to lower to about 80

It's a matter of tire size and rear end ratio. If the speedo isn't accurate (VSS) the PCM cuts the fuel earlier or later.
